![]() Hidden Path Entertainment, who worked on Counter-Strike: Source post-release, helped to develop the game alongside Valve. ![]() The fourth game in the main series, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, was released by Valve in 2012 for Windows, OS X, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. Eight months later, Valve released Counter-Strike: Source, a remake of the original Counter-Strike and the first in the series to run on Valve's newly created Source engine. A previous version of Condition Zero that was developed by Ritual Entertainment was released alongside it as Condition Zero: Deleted Scenes. The original Counter-Strike was followed by Counter-Strike: Condition Zero, developed by Turtle Rock Studios and released in March 2004. It was initially released as a modification ("mod") for Half-Life that was designed by Minh "Gooseman" Le and Jess "Cliffe" Cliffe before the rights to the mod's intellectual property were acquired by Valve, the developers of Half-Life, who then turned Counter-Strike into a retail product. The series began on Windows in 1999 with the release of the first game, Counter-Strike. Once you have finished your picture you need to save it, but this is where things get different.Counter-Strike ( CS) is a series of multiplayer first-person shooter video games in which teams of terrorists battle to perpetrate an act of terror (bombing, hostage-taking, assassination) while counter-terrorists try to prevent it (bomb defusal, hostage rescue, escort mission). Now due to the server not accepting files larger than 15KB you are limited to 96x96 (although you can extend one edge if you reduce the other). Either side may vary, but it must always be a multiple of 16. The physical dimensions of the image must be between 16x16 to 256x256 pixels. The image file size must not be any bigger than 15KB, otherwise the server will not accept it. The last colour is your transparent colour. It doesn't matter what the colours are though. Once again the output of the file has to be in bitmap, and has to have a full 256-colour table. I personally use Adobe Photoshop as it offers everything that is needed. It's always best to make your own though :) A more advanced graphics editor is probably best for this kind of thing. You can take any image and turn it into a logo. Multi-coloured LogosĮverybody's favourite type, big, and colourful. You will then be able to find your logo in one of the selectable set. Then start up Half-Life or CS, and go to Multiplayer, and customise. By default this is: "C:\SIERRA\Half-Life\logos\". Simply save your logo as a Bitmap (BMP) in your Half-Life logo's directory. The trick is to draw your picture inverse, as in black is transparent and white is as solid as it gets. So just select Gray colours in your graphics editor. Your image has to be 64 pixels by 64 pixels, and has to have a grayscale colour table. I recommend standard logos for those who haven't done anything like this before. Conversation was fun :) "OMG, what's that big thing on the wall there!?", "oh, that's my logo :)".Īnyway, on to how to do it. I can remember when people first figured out how to make multi-coloured logos, I was one of the first people to have made one. If you want to make a standard logo you can use programs such as PaintBrush to do a very good job. Whether it's a greyscale original or a multi-colour wad. Every self respecting player has their own custom made spray logo, or player decal.
